Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
SnapSource is a beta app that identifies items from photos and shows real eBay sold listings. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using SnapSource, you agree to the practices described here.
Camera and photo library access
SnapSource may ask for permission to access your device's camera so you can photograph an item for identification. You may also choose to grant photo library access to upload an existing image instead. These permissions are optional and used only to process the image you choose to share. You can revoke camera or photo library access at any time in your device settings.
Photos and identification
When you upload a photo, SnapSource sends it to AI providers for item identification and analysis. The provider receives the image and returns details such as predicted item name, brand, and category. We do not use your photos to train external AI models.
Photos submitted through in-app feedback (Good Match, Bad Match, Better Description, Better Resale Value, or Report a Problem) may be stored so we can review, debug, and improve identification accuracy.
Sold listings and search queries
To show you comparable sold listings, SnapSource may send search queries derived from the identified item to third-party services such as eBay. These queries do not include your name, email, or other personal information. We use the results only to display sold-price information inside the app.
Beta signup emails
If you provide an email when signing up for the beta, we store it to send product updates and to track founding-tester status for free lifetime Pro access. Providing an email is optional. We do not sell your email or share it with advertisers.
Feedback data
Each feedback submission may include:
- The uploaded image
- Predicted item, brand, and category
- Model confidence
- Search query used for sold comps
- Your notes, corrections, or message
- Feedback type and timestamp
- Browser/device user agent
We use this only to improve SnapSource's identification, search quality, and overall reliability.
Deleting your data
SnapSource does not require a login or password — scanning works anonymously, and we only retain personal data if you opted into the beta or submitted feedback. You can remove that data at any time by visiting snapsourceapp.com/data/delete, entering your email, and confirming the link we send you. Deletion removes your beta signup, any Founding Tester or Complimentary flags, plan usage record, feedback submissions, email history, and the device association stored in your browser.
You can also email us at puddlereese@gmail.com and we'll remove your data on your behalf.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data. We do not share your email or feedback with third-party advertisers. We do not use your photos to train external AI models. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
